Important: Consurf is a tool to facilitate people to attend furry conventions. It cannot guarantee success or absolute safety. Exercise caution like any other public platform when arranging rides and sharing rooms. Do not send money or put yourself in risk, you are still dealing with strangers on the internet!

With that in mind: Instead of posting loose requests or offers to share a room in that furry convention hotel in different Discord or Telegram chats, or trying to jump on that person who just said they have a car going on the same direction, you can use Consurf to centralize this, and initiate conversation.

Compare Consurf as a Kijiji or Craigslist of "going to and from a furry convention".

What Consurf is for

  • Find furries who have the other half of your need, either looking or offering a room in a convention, or a car ride.
  • Use all the information provided to you, such as profiles, to get you started on assessing who the people you are about to interact are.
  • Initiate conversations using private messages to get people's vibes, before deciding to move to other channels, such as Telegram or Discord. Though, you can do all your conversation here.

What Consurf is NOT for

  • Announcing anything aside from Car Rides or Accomodation with the intent of attending a furry convention (or variants, like a furry camping)
  • Selling services and goods.
  • A place to do money transactions.

Age of users

Consurf is a website intended for adults only. You must be legally recognised as adult in your state/country AND you must be at least 18 years old to use this site and its services. If you are not, you must refrain from using this site.

Posting Ads on Consurf

Because Consurf is intented to be a safer place to engage other furries in search for ways to attend their so expected convention, all Ads must adhere to the following:

  • Clear and concise needs
  • Be truthful - If you do not have an accomodation guaranteed, do not offer. In other words, if you are not the owner of the booking, do not offer!
  • Be integral - If you commit to someone, either as the owner of the Ad or the one responding, be open and transparent if the plans change! Don't take people's money and pay what you owe.
  • Be polite - Sometimes an Ad may have too much attention, and the owner of the Ad may be swamped. Wait their reponse.
  • Don't repeat yourself - Don't post multiple times just because your Ad is down on the list.
  • Be decent - Do not offer anything illicit or sex as a form of payment, this is strictly enforced!
  • Bad solicitation will kill the vibes, and ban your account.

Failure to abide to the rules may render your account permanently banned.

Watch your display picture

Consurf uses Bluesky to authenticate you, and it draws your profile name and picture to be your identity in our service. Bluesky in general cannot enforce PG display pictures, so if your profile picture is "too spicy", we will hide it to keep our site PG from the general public.

Other issues may render your profile picture to be hidden, for example:

  • Hate symbols and patterns
  • Triggering images
  • Political, racial and religious infamatory references
  • Controversal imagery

The moderators and admins decide based on the context and what they interpret.

Consurf is a community

When you join Consurf, we like to assume you are integral. You can report an issue if you find someone who is not.

We will however evaluate each case by case. We want to weed out people who seek to scam our community, or poses a safety risk to others. Therefore, if you just didn't "vibe" with someone, seek someone else next time.

Disputes between users

The ultimate responsibility for settling disputes rests with the buyer and seller. However, Consurf may act as an arbitrator if either party requests our assistance. In all cases, our non-legal advice is given as unofficial assistance and cannot be used as an indication of our responsibility or liability in any dispute.

Hate and harassment

Consurf is young, you may not find moderation tools such as "block" right away, but please let it be known that there is no space for such thing here.

If you encounter a situation like this, use the "Report" tool, and stop interacting with the person immediately.

Stalking

Let's be honest, nobody likes a stalker. Stalking can happen in any platform and communication apps, and Consurf is not safe from those actors.

You can block a conversation to continue once it's open in your Ad, but currently we do not offer a global block tool for users, we will work on this though, as Consurf is in its first release.

If someone insists not letting you be every time, even though you repeatedly said No: File a report - in certain cases, we have the ability to ban the user entirely from the platform.

Consurf is not affiliated to Hotels or Conventions

A furry convention may choose to create a space for their attendees interact. But the convention and Consurf do not share a relationship.

But as part of our tight knit community, Consurf and any convention can help each other to enhance the safety and wellbeing of people, on either side of the rope.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold us, our owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives and volunteers harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs (including reasonable legal fees) or other expenses that arise directly or indirectly out of or from: (i) your breach of this agreement; (ii) financial loss or any type of harm when engaging with people met in this website; (iii) any allegation that any materials that you share to us or transmit to the website infringe or otherwise violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property or other rights of any third party; and/or (iv) your use of this website and activities in connection with the website. This indemnity will be applicable without regard to the negligence of any party, including any indemnified person.

Security of information

No data transmission over the Internet or storage system can be guaranteed as totally secure. We strive to protect such information, however we do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information that you transmit to us or that we store. Accordingly, by entering into this agreement, you state that any information that you transmit to us, and is stored by us, is transmitted and stored at your own risk.

Termination of access

Access to this website may be terminated at any time by us without notice. Our disclaimer will nevertheless survive any such termination.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws in force in the jurisdictions in which we directly operate, and not the jurisdictions from which this site may simply be accessed, or in which you reside. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those relevant courts we deem appropriate to resolve any particular dispute or legal issue, at our sole discretion.

Arbitration

Any controversy or claim arising out of or in connection with this agreement may, at our discretion, be settled by binding arbitration of a professional third-party arbitrator chosen by us. You agree to be bound by the decisions of the chosen arbitrator in that case.

General

We accept no liability for any failure to comply with this agreement where such failure is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If we waive any rights available to us under this agreement on one occasion, this does not mean that those rights will automatically be waived on any other occasion.

If any of the terms of this agreement are held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, the remaining terms and conditions shall nevertheless continue in full force.
